The Groes Inn Restaurant In Conwy is Undergoing Refurbishments

We have bad news and good news. The first is that one of the best restaurants in Conwy, the Groes Inn, which has proven a hit with locals and visitors alike, has been closed for Mother’s Day and possibly Easter Sunday for much-needed renovations. The good news is that the kitchens in this well-loved restaurant in Conwy are due to be improved in the midst of these works, and new menus have been promised to the Groes Inn’s loyal following pending completion.

When you pass the Groes Inn, you usually see cars parked outside and in the expansive car park which is right opposite, pretty planters (which should just about be coming up with the Groes Inn’s spring daffodils around about now) as well as the odd diner or guest attempting to catch some of the springtime sunshine. Nothing could be further from that picture at the Groes Inn in 2018 thanks to the renovations – should you pass nowadays you’re greeted with… well, a scene that very much resembles a construction site.

From February 2018 the Groes Inn has fencing all around it, and is very much an ongoing job, rather than a hotel or a restaurant.

There are all manner of things going on around the Groes Inn Hotel and Restaurant in Conwy at the moment - skips, heavy machinery, and a general flurry of construction activity which is the polar opposite from the usual, lazy, springtime hum which the Groes Inn gives at this (very laid back) time of the year.

We were fortunate enough to speak to a Groes Inn spokesperson in order to ascertain what exactly was going on with the Groes Inn, and we learned that the recent work was due to implement improvements to the Groes Inn in order for them to continue their high standards for food and accommodation.

As the Groes Inn is very much a one-in-a-million when it comes to the unique history it provides the Conwy Valley as well as it’s look – we also enquired about the possibility that these improvements might change the look of the Groes. We were assured that the Groes Inn’s character isn’t going to change at all, and while the pub and the restaurant are going to undergo spring cleaning, nothing about the Groes’ very distinctive look is going to be changed.
